FAQs
How do we book Charlie?
Fill out an enquiry form and we’ll aim to get back to you within 48 hours to confirm and discuss your booking. Providing as much detail as possible in the additional comments section gives us a really good understanding of exactly what you’re after and how we can provide the best possible experience.
How much does Charlie cost?
We offer two packages: Silver, £825, and Gold, £900. Visit our packages page to find out what each package includes. If you’ve got an idea you’d like to share or if you’d like to tweak either package, then we’re all ears. Just add your thoughts to the additional comments section of the enquiry form and we’ll see what we can do.
Where does Charlie travel to?
As a general rule of thumb, Charlie will travel anywhere up
to one hour-ish from the Cheltenham / Gloucester area. This includes (but isn’t
limited to) Burford, Witney and parts of Oxford in the east. Bibury and
Cirencester in the south. Tetbury, Dursley and Stroud in the west. Tewkesbury
and Broadway in the north, and anywhere in between.
Where can Charlie go?
Within reason, Charlie can go anywhere – inside or out. If it’s inside then we need to be sure the entrance is big enough for Charlie to fit through. We’ll make sure Charlie’s wheels are as clean as possible but you’ll need to consider the possibility of a little mud inside. If it’s outside, it shouldn’t be a problem. Just remember, inside or out, Charlie will need a power point within 40 metres and relatively level ground. Charlie may not be suitable for all venues so if in doubt, please ask. See How big is Charlie? for more information.
How big is Charlie?
Charlie is 409cm long, 250cm high (ground to roof) and 171cm wide.
What days and times can I book Charlie for?
Charlie’s available to book between midday and 10pm, seven days a week. We’ll need to be on site an hour beforehand to set up and we’ll need half an hour after your booking to pack down.
Will Charlie have props?
Absolutely. Whichever package you choose, Charlie comes with a wide range of high quality props for you and your guests to horse around with.
Will the photos be any good?
Yes. We use an integrated Canon EOS R100 camera – a 21.4 megapixel digital camera. Charlie’s well-lit with ceiling lights and a ring light to ensure high-quality photos every time. Photos are printed in seconds by our DNP DS620 Professional Photo Printer. Photo strips can be customised to match your event stationery/theme.
Do we get digital copies of all the images?
Yes. Both packages include access to a full digital gallery. You and your guests can relive all the photos from your big day, download an unlimited number of high-resolution images and share on social media. Just remember to tag us!
Do you provide a guest book?
Our Gold package includes a guest book, set up on a bistro table outside (or inside if it’s a bit rainy). Guests will receive two copies of their photos – one to keep and one to stick into the guest book. Pens and glue will be provided. Find out more on our packages page.
How big can each group be?
Charlie needs to be looked after, so we restrict individual groups to no more than six people at a time. We ask that drinks are left outside on the table provided. Admittance will always be at the discretion of the Cotswolds Horsebox Photography technician on site.
How is Charlie powered?
Charlie will need to be no further than 40 metres from a power socket. Our appliances are all PAT tested and require a three-pin household style power point.
What happens if something goes wrong?
We’re confident nothing will go wrong but in the unlikely event it does, one of our technicians will be on hand to help and resolve the issue.
Do you have insurance to cover accidental damage or injury?
Yes, we hold public liability insurance and insurance for accidental damage. But, as stated in our terms and conditions, any damage caused – accidental or otherwise – will ultimately be the responsibility of the hirer.
How do I pay?
We require a non-refundable deposit to confirm your booking. This deposit will be 15% of your total booking cost. We then require the remaining amount to be paid 30 days prior to your booking taking place. If you book within 30 days of your event, you must pay the full amount upfront. Payment to be made via online bank transfer, cash, or cheque. Cheques must be received and cleared 30 days before the event.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel your booking, unfortunately you will lose your deposit. Full cancellation charges apply if you cancel your booking within 30 days of the event. If you reschedule, any money already paid may be credited towards the new booking.
